From Plans to a Finished Home
A well-managed construction project needs a clear process.
01 — Project Discussion
We start by understanding what you're planning to build.
We discuss the property, available plans, project requirements, specifications and where you currently are in the process.
If architectural drawings or other documentation are already available, these provide an important starting point for understanding the project.
02 — Review the Project
Before meaningful construction costing can take place, we need to understand what is actually being built.
We review the available plans, specifications and relevant project information to establish the scope of construction.
This is also where important questions can be identified before work starts on site.
03 — Specifications & Costing
A Price Needs a Specification Behind It
The size of a house alone doesn't determine what it will cost to build.
Materials, finishes, structural requirements, roof design, windows, kitchens, bathrooms and numerous other choices can significantly change the cost of two houses with exactly the same floor area.
We therefore believe that meaningful project costing should be based on a clearly understood scope and specification.
The better the project is defined before construction begins, the better everyone understands what is included.
04 — Pre-Construction
Before construction starts, the required project information, agreed scope and relevant approvals need to be in place.
Planning the construction process properly at this stage helps establish what needs to happen once work begins on site.
05 — Construction
This Is Where Your Home Starts Taking Shape
Once construction begins, the drawings become something physical.
Depending on the design and agreed scope, the construction process may include:
Site establishment
Setting out
Excavations
Foundations
Concrete work
Structural construction
Brickwork
Roof construction
Windows and doors
Plumbing
Electrical work
Plastering
Waterproofing
Ceilings
Flooring and tiling
Joinery
Painting
Fixtures and finishes
External works where included
Every stage prepares the way for the next.
That is why workmanship matters from the beginning and not only when the finishing work starts.
